Actually I’ve tried to display that video in this blog, but it failed, so anyone who know how to display the video, please tell me how. Ok?
Singapore is well known with other name such as Switzerland of Asia or Fine City, due to its large amount of prohibition, such of drug, jay-walking, spitting, littering, and drinking and eating on public transport. You can see the sign in many places in Singapore, which you can see it below:

No Jaywalking sign in Orchard road
It is said that first offenders of jaywalking face a fine of S$500 and three months of jail. Repeat offenders can be fined for up to $2000 fine or six months in jail. It such a lot punishment.
There are also some other fine which is cannot find in any other country, such as:
- urinating
- leaving a public toilet un-flushed ($150 fined)
- flower picking ($50 fined)
- vandalizing ($2000 fined)
- importing or selling chewing gum (although now available at pharmacies if you ask for it directly, show your ID and sign the register.
The other regulation that I have heard is:
- wild animals banning being used in circus shows, such as tigers, lions, elephants and all other wild animals.
- road tax and radio car’s tax
- There is mosquito patrol that can enter your home without a warrant and check your flower pots for standing water, which also constitutes an offence.
- etc, etc.
There are some places that you cannot use handphone or skate-scootering or bringing pet. So you must be aware with the sign. You also cannot posting racist comments on the Internet since the internet content is controlled by government. Many places have CCTV cameras, so you will easily identified if you do wrong, even for foreigner cannot escape for the sentence.
No wonder that this country is called a fine city, because there are many things that are banned. The list maybe thousands long. But what the government get is a clean and well-arranged country.
